Polignano a Mare
Polignano a Mare is an Italian municipality of 18 023 inhabitants of the metropolitan city of Bari in Puglia. The oldest part of the town stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Adriatic Sea, 33 kilometers south of the capital. The economy of the country is essentially based on tourism and horticulture. Of great naturalistic interest are its marine caves and historically important are the historic center and the remains of Roman domination. Among the latter, the bridge of the via Traiana, still practicable, which runs through Lama Monachile. Since 2008, Polignano a Mare has always received the Blue Flag, an award given by the Foundation for Environmental Education to the European coastal resorts that meet quality criteria related to bathing water parameters and the service offered in relation to parameters such as beach cleaning and tourist landings
